James Finley returns for his fourth season as Wide Receivers coach at Mater Dei. Prior to this, he spent three years (2015-2017) coaching at Narbonne High School where he helped win three City Championships and two State Championships

James played his prep football at Manual Arts High School where he was a 4-sport athlete (football, basketball, track and volleyball). He is a member of a 3A basketball city title (2000). In football, he was All-City (2000-2001), All-State (2001) All-American (2001).

After high school, he attended Compton Community College and was named All Conference (2003), All-State HM All-American (2004), All-Conference, All-State and 2nd Team All-American. James attended the University of Oregon (2005-2006) and was selected as an All-Pac 10 Honorable Mention his final season. In 2007, he completed an NFL training camp with Chicago Bears. In 2010, he played 4 games with the Green Bay Blizzards of the (IFL) and was named player of the game twice before tearing his right Achilles Tendon. In 2011, he signed and attended camp with the UFL Sac MT Lions, an NFL Developmental League.
 
James is an Inglewood, CA native. He resides in Los Angeles with his wife, Monique, and four beautiful children (3 daughters, 1 son). He is a Political Science Major.
