Dave played quarterback on El Modena High’s 1980, ’81 and ’82 football teams. During that time, El Modena won two Century League titles and advanced twice to the CIF championship finals. Dave went on to play two years at Santa Ana JC before attending Lamar University in Beaumont, TX. Dave has a Master’s Degree from Azusa Pacific University in Education. Dave’s coaching career began in 1986 when he coached quarterbacks on the varsity level at El Modena. In 1988, he served as offensive coordinator. In 1989 Dave became quarterback coach at Mater Dei and was named the offensive coordinator in 1990. Dave’s list of accomplishments includes a state championship in 1991 and two national championships.
